Leaving the noise behind, finding a new way to share—more personal, more honest, more us.

Welcome to Behind the Veil,

For a while now, I’ve been contemplating stepping away from Instagram—at least from a business perspective. The platform isn’t what it once was, and the reality is that to have even one post seen by those who already follow me, I’d have to spend hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars a month. That’s not a sustainable way to run a one-woman business, and truthfully, it’s taken a toll on my desire to show up there.

I’ve offered member-only spaces before, built and managed entirely on my website, but as one person, it became too much to hold. Now, with my babe in my arms, taking a well-deserved pause from The Ritual Apothecary, I feel an undeniable pull to write and share in a way that feels truer to me. Different from my podcast, which leans into storytelling and philosophy, this space will hold the thoughts and reflections that come as they appear—more fluid, more personal, more intimate.

For years, people have asked why I don’t have a Substack, and my response was always, There are already so many, why would anyone want another? But here I am, no longer wanting to keep my words tucked away in journals, but rather to share them and see what they become.

I’ve been a teacher of the esoteric for so long, offering insights and practices to others, but recently, I’ve felt a deeper longing for true kinship and community. My recent birth—one that was both beautiful and deeply traumatic—showed me the immense power of women showing up for each other. It shifted something profound within me. I’ve spent so long supporting others, rarely asking for help myself, and in doing so, I missed out on the kind of nourishment I didn’t even realise I needed.

This space is my way of honouring that shift. A place to share life as I live it—the raw, the sacred, the in-between. Motherhood, food, marriage, love, death, and the spirals that weave them all together.
